President John Cox - 2008-2009
Many of us are so wrapped up in our
daily lives that we fail to consider how fortunate we are
and how good we have it. Too often, we fail to think about
those people in our local and international communities who
lack the basic comforts that we take for granted – things
like family, health, housing, food, education, and even
clean drinking water. Too seldom do we take action to
improve the lives of such people.
Rotarians are vitally aware of the need to take action
because at some point, each Rotarian decides that the
plight of those less fortunate is unacceptable and that it
is imperative that something be done about it. We decide to
take it upon ourselves to do what we can do to help and
bring comfort to others. We commit ourselves to doing so.
We are not too busy. We can be bothered. We are actively
involved. We take action. We serve. We give. And, we have
fun.
As Rotarians worldwide, we are united by a single belief –
that 1.2 million of us worldwide working together in a
myriad of small ways will make a huge difference in
improving the lives of our brothers and sisters on Planet
Earth.
If you share our passion for serving others, Rotary is
where you belong. To learn more about Rotary, please join
us at a meeting of the Waukesha Sunrise Rotary Club. We
meet every Tuesday morning at 7:00 am over breakfast at the
Country Springs Hotel in Waukesha. We look forward to
getting to know you!
